The TY Buratai Humanitarian Foundation has donated the sum of two hundred and fifty thousand naira (N250,000) and a certificate of honesty to Hajiya Aisha Muhammad Yanguru Nahuche, a Zamfara woman pilgrim who returned $80,000 to its owner this year’s Hajj 2023 exercise in Saudi Arabia.
The returned $80,000 is equivalent to over eighty-four million naira (N84 million).
The foundation also honoured Hajiya Aisha Nahuce with a certificate of honour as an Ambassador of Honesty. Chairman of the foundation, Hon. Ibrahim Dahiru Danfulani, made the presentation at the headquarters of Zamfara State Hajj Commission in Gusau today.
He praised Hajiya Aisha for her act of honesty, which not only restored faith in humanity but also inspired people to strive for a better world.
The TY Buratai Foundation was established in Nasarawa state to emulate the humanitarian efforts of the former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai, who devoted his entire life to his nation. The foundation’s mission is to help the underprivileged, orphans, and widows, and it also recognizes community contributions to help people in various fields.
Hon. Danfulani expressed the foundation’s privilege in recognizing Hajiya Aisha for her exceptional character and moral courage. He highlighted that in a world where greed and dishonesty are prevalent, she stood tall and made a decision that inspires everyone. Her act of integrity and selflessness serves as a shining example, demonstrating the importance of doing what is right, even when nobody is watching, and how honesty can inspire change and restore faith in humanity.
He urged Nigerians to be inspired and cultivate honesty and integrity in their daily lives, making choices that positively impact those around them.
In addition to honouring Hajiya Aisha, the TY Buratai Foundation also recognized Alh. Musa Mallaha, the Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of Zamfara State Hajj Commission, for his sincerity and honesty in returning the enormous sum of money to the Saudi authorities.
Alh. Nusa Mallaha, the Chairman of the Caretaker Committee, and 2023 Hajj exercise Amirul Hajj expressed gratitude to the foundation for the gesture and recognition given to Hajiya Aisha Muhammad Yanguru Nahuche.
