Heraclitus, a Greek philosopher, is quoted as saying “change is the only constant in life.” We won’t argue with him, but agree, as his wisdom rings true, especially in the ever-changing and ever-improving world of online gaming. What started as simple roulette games and cherry slot machines, is now an industry to be reckoned with.
Still, trends come and go, and a game that was a massive hit a week ago can be forgotten as yesterday’s news. But what trends shape the present? And can average gamers benefit from them? We asked Anna Rosak (read her bio here), a digital specialist in Poland.
“Players from Poland have learned that legalne kasyna or, legal casinos if you like, are the way to go. However, besides the legality, there are also many other factors that add value to the experience or take it away. All depends on how you look at it”, says Anna Rosak.
The digital specialist helped us detect the most important, and the most influential trends on the market, that may transform the Polish gaming market forever.
Crossover Brands
Rosak says it is no secret that Polish players have undergone the maturing process in the past few years. iGaming is no longer seen as an easy way of making money, but a fun pastime, ideal for those who have a few extra coins to spend. Also, they have learned about the importance of gaming laws and regulations in Poland.
“The number of players, willing to play with operators that run both online gaming services, and retail shops, is increasing. Although they are aware of the fact there are no guarantees in life, the fact that a company is ready to run both online and retail businesses, is very appealing to Polish gamers”, reveals Rosak.
The expert adds, the retail casino market in Poland is quite limited, yet that doesn’t stop Polish players from signing up with international brands that are proof you can have it both ways.
Virtual Reality: The Future Is Now
Facing the 2020 COVID pandemic, the world had to learn how to survive inside, without leaving home. Bars, stores, bookies, and casinos, were all shut down, in order to keep the global pandemic under control. Considering there are only so many loaves of bread one can bake, and DIY projects to give up on, many people turned to virtual reality.
“I’ll be honest with you, VR sets are still not an everyday object in Polish homes. For many, they are just too expensive of a gizmo to purchase. Still, those who can afford it, use it. Needless to say, as the economic power of younger generations grows, they are more eager than ever to engage in such pricey purchases”, Anna told us.
Just for reference, the cheapest VR sets that are compatible only with smartphones can cost $50, but if you want something more expensive, be ready to spend a couple of hundreds of dollars.
Provably Fair Crypto Games
Eastern Europeans were always open-minded when it comes to crypto, and now, Polish players have decided to take advantage of provably fair games. But what are they, and how do they work?
“Like your college relationship – it’s complicated”, laughs Anna and continues, “When you start gaming, you are assigned a User Seed, while your gaming activities generate the Server Seed. Long story short, the two generate a new Seed Pair that generates outcomes. Each player gets a formula, for every game played, whereby by adding certain data they can see if everything is as fair as it is supposed to be.”
Anna admits that despite the overwhelming popularity of crypto gaming, Polish players still rather engage in traditional online casinos. However, the number of crypto gamers is on the rise and shows no signs of stopping. Well, at least for now.
Custom-Made Experience
And ultimately, Rosak mentions one quite unexpected trend – custom-made casino experiences that fit the gamer like a glove. In her opinion, young casino gamers are more demanding than ever, and will never settle for less. With money to be played and high expectations, they set new standards and force casinos to adapt.
“Having 1,000 games is no longer enough. Polish players want great gaming suggestions that fit their preferences. They no longer wish for a bonus, they want to redeem only a bonus cut to their measure. They don’t want 24/ live chat support, as they ask for personal account agents. It might seem like madness, but I can only see good things coming out of it”, she says.
In Rosak’s opinion, the entire casino industry now gets the chance to set even higher standards, thus separating good brands from those that are not willing to make even the slightest improvement. “It’s the survival of the strongest”, says the expert.
