The executives and staffers of the foremost telecommunication company, MTN recently gathered at the Centre Point, Lagos, to honour the outgoing Chief Operating Officer of the company, Hassan Jaber, who is retiring after 29 years of dedicated service and leadership to the organisation.
The ceremony was filled with excitement as colleagues, friends and family reeled out Jaber’s various achievements and contributions to the company.
Jaber’s illustrious career with MTN started in 1998 as an IT Manager in Accra, Ghana. He also played pivotal roles in developing the company’s technology strategy and aided the growth of the IT departments in Benin and Liberia before later serving as the Chief Information Officer of MTN Yemen and Syria, and later rose through the ranks to lead MTN as CEO in Guinea, Sudan, and Afghanistan.
He later became the COO of MTN Nigeria in 2022 after a stint as the COO in Iran.
The CEO of MTN, Karl Toriola, Esther Akinnukawe, Babs Oyeleke, Modupe Kadiri, Olusina Adegoke, and all other top executives of MTN and friends were all present at the Centre Point, Ikoyi for the retirement party filled with fun and joyful memories.
