Organisers of The Industry Women (tinW) Conference have announced the theme and speakers for this year’s edition of the conference, expected to hold this month in Lagos.
The conference’s convener, Mr Goddie Ofose, explained that the theme: ‘Tools Nigerian Women Need to Compete and Succeed’, was to bring to the forefront the imperatives of preparing the feminine gender, especially at a time the nation’s economy is experiencing some turbulence.
Arguing that women-led businesses have a role to play if the nation’s economy is to recover, Ofose believed women entrepreneurs always bring unique perspectives and insights that can lead to better decision-making and more innovative solutions.
“Women-led startups often prioritise social impact and sustainability, which can contribute to a more responsible and ethical business ecosystem,” he added.
On economic growth, Ofose noted that women-led businesses can reinvest into household incomes and national economies, and they always have a way of closing the pay gap.
He explained that The Industry Newspaper would also be using the opportunity to recognise and celebrate top 50 industry women in Nigeria who have demonstrated tenacity, resilience, innovation and industry in the course of the Y2024, during the PINK session at the event.
The event is expected to feature women across the different sectors of the economy, such as: Tech, Marketing, Advertising, Communications, PR, Governance, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Entrepreneurship, Brand Management, Sales and Media.
