Minister of State for Health, Dr Tunji Alausa, has told Nigerians not to let saboteurs who want to settle political scores deceive them into joining any street protests, saying there’s nothing to protest for.
Dr Alausa, who spoke at the sidelines of the commissioning of the Thompson Abayomi Oshin Physiotherapy Building at the College of Medicine in Ibadan, said individuals who want to be president should not try to deceive any innocent citizen to go on the street to protest but wait till 2027 to contest to become president.
According to him, Nigeria is moving in the right direction, and there’s nothing to protest for.
“We have to take difficult decisions for a better tomorrow, for the future of our children. And that’s what this president has done. You know what happened to our exchange rate? This president knew what he had to do to set this country on the path of sustainability. And he’s done that.
“Now, security is better in the country. Roads are being constructed all over the country. Now, a lot of inputs are being given to farmers. Farmers are being freed from banditry. They can go back to the farms.
“We’re getting fertiliser today. Foodstuffs are being distributed all across the country. Inflation is everywhere in the world. Food prices are high everywhere in the world. It’s not only Nigeria.
“In Nigeria, our food prices are still the cheapest. So this president is working almost 18 hours a day to ensure that every citizen of this country gets a better life.
“He’s working and fixing this country for our children that will come. This is not a quick fix. But I’m promising you that in the next few months to one year, things will get significantly better.
“With the new changes that the president made yesterday to denominate the sales of crude oil to dangote oil in Nigeria. We’ll have more foreign forex to service other things. The value of the naira will get stronger. That now translates to prices of food getting cheaper.
“So it takes a creative person, a genius, to do this thing. This president cares about the country. Please don’t let saboteurs, Nigerians; don’t let saboteurs who want to set you political scores deceive you.
“Elections were done. One of the first elections in the country was won by this president. If anybody wants to be president, let him wait till 2027 and come and contest.
“You should not try to deceive an innocent citizen to go on the street to protest. There’s nothing to protest for. This country is moving right on in the right direction.”
