The Sokoto State Governor, Rt Hon Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, sworn in 26 new commissioners with their portfolios into the State Executive Council and charged them to be judicious in the handling of government resources.
The governor charged them to demonstrate exemplary leadership, steadfastness and diligence in their duties, saying their appointment was based on their loyalty, merit and hard work.
“We appointed people with impeccable character, and the choice is on merit. As the chief executives of your various ministries, I want to draw your attention to the fact that the State Executive Council is the highest body to make policy for the state. You should be above board in all your endeavours and concentrate on the assigned duties,” Tambuwal added.
Meanwhile, Governor Tambuwal has allocated portfolios for the newly sworn-in State Executive members.
In a statement signed by Abubakar Shekara, Director General media and public affairs to the Governor. While Hon Sulaiman Usman (SAN) as the State Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice while the former state chairman of APC, Alh Usman Sulaiman Danmadami was posted to Ministry of Works.

Isa Bajini Galadanchi, Ministry of Higher Education, Hon Kulu Abdullahi Sifawa, Ministry of Women Affairs, Hon Musa Ausa, Ministry of Rural Development.

The Commissioners includes Shehu Adamu Rara, Ministry of Budget & Economic Planning, Hon Bashir Gidado. Gidado, Ministry of Commerce, Hon Abdullahi Haruna Illela Ministry of Solid Minerals, Musa Abubakar Girkau, Ministry of Youth & Sports, Sani Bunu Yabo, Ministry of Social Welfare, Shehu Muh’d Dabaga, Establishment and Pension Matters.
The Governor wishes the new Commissioners success in the service of the Government and people of Sokoto State and prays Allah to make their appointment a blessing to them and society at large.
He advised the newly-appointed commissioners to observe the principles of equity, fairness and justice as their watchwords in the discharge of their official duties, while accountability and prudence should be their new resolve.
