Piqued by the sudden return of trucks on bridges in Lagos, actor, Femi Branch, has berated the Lagos State government for its failure to find a lasting solution to the menace of trucks dotting bridges in the state, warning them to stop playing lip service to the plight of the poor man.
Branch, in a two minutes video he shared on Instagram said it was baffling that the trucks could be taken away when President Muhammadu Buhari was going to visit Lagos days back, adding that since the president returned to his base, residents in Lagos have been left to face the traffic problem occasioned by trucks on the Lagos bridges.
The actor, who returned to active acting recently having broken his legs on the set of a movie about three years ago, said if the trucks could have disappeared for the number of hours the president spent in Lagos during his visit, he wondered why same magic could not be performed to keep the trailers away from the bridges totally.
“I am miffed by what we are being forced to go through every day because the state government has failed in its duty to do the needful. It shows that the government does not value the lives of the people. Many people have died on these bridges because somebody is not doing their job.”
He added that bridges are for commuting people not to serve as parking ground for trucks.
“We are tired of this in Lagos State. How can bridges be transformed to trailer parks? The president came and the trucks were gone. He leaves and the trailers are back. Many lives had been lost already, thanks to their negligence and care-free attitude,” he said.
