Armed men suspected to be cultists on Monday allegedly invaded the Bayelsa State High Court Complex, burgling the offices of the State Chief Judge, Justice Kate Eradiri and Justice Nayai Aganaba, carting away case files and computers.
It was gathered that the incident which occurred in the early hours of Sunday left Justice Abiri, judges and lawyers in the state in shock.
It was further learnt that some of the judiciary workers who arrived at the premises early on Monday for usual clean-up were shocked to see the Chief Judge’s office burgled and vandalised.

A source in the judiciary claimed that the invasion of the offices of Justice Abiri and Justice Aganaba may be connected to a high profile case being that was submitted to the Chief Judge for advice.
It was also gathered that the police are investigating some staff of the Judiciary attached to the Chief Judge and Justice Aganaba.
Contacted on the development, the Spokesperson of the Bayelsa Police Command, Asinim Butswat, said he has not been informed but that the police will investigate the matter.
