As expected, it was the gathering of professionals, technocrats, icons, entertainers and celebrities that graced the 11th edition of the Arise Women Congress (AWC) in Lagos a few days ago.
The host, Dr Siju Iluyomade predicted that the 2019 AWC would be different from the past editions, and it came to pass, judging by the attendance, moments and activities that marked this year’s event.

The likes of Hajia Mairo Almakura, Mrs Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, Mrs Bamidele Abiodun, Mrs Bisi Fayemi, Mrs Betsy Obaseki, Mrs Folake Abdulrasak, Deaconess Martha Udom and many other prominent women added glamour to the conference which was headlined by speakers, Mrs Ibukun Awosika, Mrs Omolewa Ahmed and Reverend Funke Adetuberu.
The conference, which is believed to be the top annual congregation of Nigerian women, was declared open by Dr Siju Iluyomade, who called on women to come together to improve villages across Nigeria and assist in providing quality health assistance to women and children.
Also present at the conference were Dame Bimbola Fasola, Mrs Joke Adefulire, Mrs Paulen Tallen and a lot of other women leaders and representatives.
