Ayorinde emerged by affirmation and a “Yes” vote during the primaries when he remained the sole aspirant as other aspirants had withdrawn to support his candidature.
The Chairman of SDP in Oyo State, Alhaji Kola Balogun, after Ayorinde’s emergence, described the development as a positive move for the party in Oyo State, adding that it is the emergence of good governance and responsible government in Oyo State.

He noted that it is very clear that the standard that the SDP flag bearer will be bringing to the governance cannot be matched by any other candidate from any other party.
According to him, Ayorinde will be coming with not only professional excellence but also integrity of purpose and unblemished records in public service.
In his reaction, the gubernatorial candidate, Chief Bolaji Ayorinde (SAN), pledged to dedicate himself to the emergence of a government that will enthrone social Justice and equitable distribution of the resources of the State for the benefit of the residents.
He also pledged to make Oyo State the most attractive state to invest in Nigeria and also to make the State a haven for good living.
