Sane, an AI-powered mental health solution, has been selected for the Orange Corners Nigeria Incubation Programme, a competitive initiative backed by the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
The programme provides business training, mentorship, and access to funding to support promising early-stage businesses.
Out of over 1,000 applications, Sane was one of 20 startups chosen for the programme. Founded by Oluwabukunmi Victor Babatunde, Sane uses artificial intelligence to proactively monitor and manage mental well-being for individuals, businesses, and institutions. With workplace stress and mental health disorders on the rise in Africa, Sane offers a much-needed intervention.
The Journey to Orange Corners
The selection process was intense, with 1,000 applicants competing for a spot. Only 30 made it to the two-day bootcamp, where they received training and feedback from industry leaders. Sane pitched its vision for a mentally healthier Africa, impressing judges and securing a spot in the final cohort.
Impact and Potential
Sane’s AI-powered analytics assess emotional well-being and provide tailored support to users. In a pilot programme, one company saw a 30% reduction in employee burnout after using Sane for just three months. Another manager noted that Sane’s insights helped them understand stress patterns in their team, allowing them to take action before problems escalated.
What’s Next for Sane?
As part of the Orange Corners Incubation Programme, Sane will undergo six months of intensive training, mentorship, and business development support. This includes expert-led sessions, access to a network of experienced entrepreneurs and investors, and opportunities for funding to scale its mental health solutions across Africa.
For Babatunde and the Sane team, this is a step toward building a future where mental health is prioritized across workplaces, schools, and communities. “We’re just getting started,” Babatunde says. “This journey is about more than Sane—it’s about changing the way Africa thinks about mental health.”
