Nigerians are burdened by the shrinking economic state of the nation. The current unemployment rate is one of the most disturbing in our nation’s history. Sadly too, the purchasing power of the nation leaves less to be desired. Nigerians are conflicted on all sides.

Today, civil servants are disturbed that their salaries are unable to salvage them from the economic meltdown current being experienced. We need all the help that we can get, and we need it first.

The prices of foodstuff keep skyrocketing leaving many Nigerians hungry and many households critically undernourished. This reality is very sad and something very drastic must be done in this regard.

Our farms are unsafe; our farmers are bedeviled by the rampaging daredevil bandits and terrorists who daily kidnap farmers for ransom. When these farmers are unable to visit their farms, food shortage and crisis become inevitable. We must arrest this ugly trend and that is now.

Musa Abdullahi, Minna.
