The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, on Wednesday, congratulated Members on the first anniversary of the 9th Assembly which he described as a long and eventful year that has recorded several firsts and milestones.
Hon. Gbajabiamila, who stated this at the end of the plenary session, expressed optimism that the reviewed Legislative Agenda of the 9th House of Representatives will be debated and hopefully adopted on Thursday, June 11th, 2020.
According to him, the new legislative agenda takes into cognizance the effects of infectious diseases and other such occurrences.
While stressing that the trend being taken by the House was unprecedented in achievements until their stride was slowed down by the unforeseen events and impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Speaker affirmed that the pandemic has adversely affected the trajectory and pace of progression at which the House was moving.

Hon. Gbajabiamila, however, assured Nigerians that the House will continue to work for the Nigerian people and be proactive in tackling national issues, even those that come at a moment’s notice for the benefit of Nigerians.
He also members for their continued commitment to the progress of the 9th House of Representatives and nation-building, which he reminded them is ‘A Joint Task’.
Hon. Gbajabiamila also applauded members for their unwavering support across party lines as he assured them that the House will continue in its commitment to the interest of the Nigerian people.
