Rema, Asake among artistes featured in Obama’s favorite music of 2024

Former United States President Barack Obama has unveiled his highly anticipated annual playlist, highlighting his favourite tracks of 2024.

This year’s list shared on his verified X account on Saturday, features a diverse range of artistes and genres, with Nigerian stars Rema and Asake standing out.

Rema’s hit track Yayo earned a spot on the playlist, reaffirming the singer’s global appeal and the growing influence of Afrobeats.

Asake’s collaboration with American rapper Travis Scott on Active also made the cut.

Other notable inclusions on Obama’s playlist include songs by global icons such as Billie Eilish (Lunch), Beyoncé (Texas Hold ‘Em), and Kendrick Lamar (Squabble Up).

The list also reflects Obama’s eclectic taste, featuring tracks from both emerging and established artists, including Fontaines D.C., Moses Sumney, and Leon Bridges.

The playlist, which has become an annual tradition, offers a unique insight into Obama’s personal interests while celebrating diverse talents from around the world.
