A cleric with the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in Yobe State, Pastor Musa Abdullahi, has recounted his ordeal in the hands of terrorists in Yobe State.
Pastor Abdullahi, while speaking with TribuneChurch, however, gave thanks to God for the peace that had returned to the North-East region.
Speaking alongside a few other persons, who were formerly occupants of camps housing Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), the cleric, commended President Muhammadu Buhari and the Nigerian Army for their efforts aimed at restoring peace.
“We would never forget the day the insurgents entered Damaturu and almost brought down our Government House. They entered in their hundreds through our area, razing every structure on their path, including churches and mosques, so we had no choice but to flee even if we had nowhere to go.
“We found solace with some of our members and relatives. In spite of all these happenings, we thank God for His goodness upon our lives, as we celebrated the last Independence Day in a free Damaturu,” he stated.
