IN commemoration of 50 years of passing out of secondary school, the 1964-1968 set of Queen’s School Old Girls Association (QSOGA), has dedicated a block of two classrooms to her alma mater.
Speaking at the dedication and presentation ceremony during the week, the set coordinator, Mrs Taiwo Adedapo-Aisida noted that the journey started in 20i4 when the thirst to give back to the alma mater prompted some members of the set to go in search of others.
According to her, rather than seek for donations, the set decided to give back to the school out of its sweat and purse, stating that “the foundation of the block of two classrooms was laid on 12, April 2018 and was completed in less than one year of starting.”
She thanked every member of the set for their corporation and immense contributions towards the success of the project, praying that God would make the benefactors, as they pass through the school to be more relevant and impactful in their families and the society at large.
The acting Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Mrs I.I Fatoki, who was represented at the event by the director of schools, Mr Oluwakemi Bolaji, in her address noted that the importance of the provision of adequate facilities in schools cannot be overemphasised.
