Access Holdings Plc has appointed Mr. Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, CFR, as its new Non-Executive Chairman, succeeding Mr. Abubakar Jimoh.
Mr. Jimoh will continue to serve on the Board as an Independent Non-Executive Director.
This change comes following the unfortunate passing of Dr. Herbert Wigwe, CFR, the former Group Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings.

Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, born on September 24, 1966, in Ibadan, Oyo State, and hailing from Sabongida-Ora, Edo State, is a distinguished lawyer and banker renowned for his expertise in investment banking.
He pursued his legal education at the University of Benin, graduating with an LLB degree in 1986 at the remarkable age of 19, and subsequently being called to the Nigerian Bar in 1987.
Commencing his career journey during his NYSC year in 1988, he worked as a lawyer with Continental Merchant Bank.
Notably, Aig-Imoukhuede played a pivotal role in leading the 2002 acquisition of Access Bank, propelling it from a regional player to prominence. He served as the group managing director and chief executive officer of the bank until December 2013.
Beyond banking, Aig-Imoukhuede is the chairman of Coronation Group, a notable financial services firm in Nigeria with interests in insurance and merchant banking.
Alongside the Late Herbert Wigwe, he co-founded the Tengen Family Office Limited, overseeing diverse investments in banking, finance, insurance, technology, and real estate.
Having held the position of MD/CEO of Access Bank Plc for a decade (2002-2013), he transitioned leadership to the late Herbert Wigwe upon the conclusion of his tenure.

Aig-Imoukhuede has contributed significantly to the Nigerian Stock Exchange and played a pivotal role in the founding of the Financial Markets Dealers Quotations (FMDQ), Over-The-Counter (OTC) Exchange.
He currently serves as the chairman of ABCHealth and is actively involved in initiatives such as the Adopt-A-Healthcare-Facility Programme (ADHFP) and the Private Sector Health Alliance of Nigeria (PSHAN).
Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede currently holds the position of vice chairman at Global Citizen Nigeria.
In collaboration with the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Fund (NSIA), he spearheaded the establishment of the Nigerian Solidarity Support Fund (NSSF), reflecting his commitment to impactful initiatives addressing societal challenges.
