Professor Adeyemi Mosadomi has been elected as the Baba Ijo of the Cathedral Church of All Saints, Balogun Agoro, Osogbo, of the Diocese of Osun, Anglican Communion.
Mosadomi was elected alongside other members to fill the vacant positions of leadership in the church.
In a release signed by the Dean of the Cathedral, Venerable Moses ‘Dayo Ojo, the church said the election was duly sanctioned and ratified by appropriate committees of the church: Cathedral Chieftaincy and Standing Committee.
“The committee was given the approval to carry on with the election, last Sunday after the service of Holy Communion that the entire Cathedral Church under God elected her new chiefs; members of Honest Report, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom with whom the cathedral laity leadership will be of tremendous help to the Dean of the cathedral and the Diocesan Bishop in the administration of the cathedral,” the release stated.
Other members who emerged as new chiefs include, Mr Olasunkade Oyediran as Balogun Ijo Okunrin; L/Evang. (Mrs.) Gbonjubola Makanjuola as Balogun Ijo Obinrin; Chief Ebenezer Akintunde Akeju as Mayegun Ijo Okunrin; Mrs. Mosunmola Adebanjo as Mayegun Ijo Obinrin; Pa. Ezekiel Ajibola Oladejo (Ise Ire) as Baba Egbe Ajumogbadura; Hon. Femi Olawale (Olajoh) as Baba Egbe Odo and Mrs. Iyaboigbinlade as Iya Egbe Odo.
It was also learnt that the result of the election was submitted to the Diocesan Bishop, Right Reverend Dr. Foluso Olugbenga Babatunji, who gave his assent, while the Diocesan Bishop announced October 30 as installation day.
Professor Mosadomi is a retired Dental Surgeon, Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Pathologist and a professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology.
The erudite professor has excelled as a well-rounded medical expert even as a Doctor of Dental Medicine (Harvard) in 1967; Fellow, American Academy of OMFPathology, 1974 and Diplomate, American Board of OMFPathology, 1975.
He was also the dean, Dental School, University of Lagos; Foundation Director, Postgrad Dental Studies, King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; Foundation Director, Research Center, Riyadh Elm University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; Foundation and Current Managing Editor, Saudi J Oral Sciences.
