A new episode of Professor Johnbull, the humorous and didactic television drama series sponsored by continental telecommunications operator, Globacom, will be aired at 8.30 tonight on NTA Network, NTA International on DSTV Channel 251 and NTA on StarTimes. The plot of this week’s edition is woven around the antics of dubious domestic staff and will see veteran Nollywood actor, Richard Mofe Damijo playing a role in the explication of the theme.
The new episode, Produced by Tchidi Chikere, with Globacom as Executive Producer, exposes the cheating antics of domestic servants who seize every opportunity to pilfer or defraud their bosses.
RMD, as the actor is popularly called, is able to counter the antics of his driver who is intent on defrauding him in the episode tagged “Work Chop”. The sitcom gives vent to the saying in local parlance, “Na where man dey work, na there him dey chop” which means a man earns his living from where he works. The episode promises to be highly entertaining as RMD shows he is a well-grounded ‘street-wise’ man by engaging his smart “Alec” driver in a game of wits.
The episode also features the regular characters in the series including Professor Johnbull (Kanayo O. Kanayo), Olaniyi (Yomi Fash-Lanso) and Abadnego (Martins Nebo). It will also be vintage KOK as a moralistic philosopher as he upbraids domestic servants who exhibit dishonest tendencies and counsels viewers on the essence of living within one’s means.
The producers said the week’s edition will, among other revelations, pay attention to why domestic servants cheat; why drivers collect money and buy less quantity of fuel; why business owners keep two sets of receipts to cater for the cheating tendencies of their customers. It also provides insight on pertinent questions like what is ‘work chop’ in Nigerian parlance; why factory hands pilfer and why chauffeurs use their masters’ vehicles as cabs. The repeat broadcast comes up at 8.30 p.m. on Friday on the same TV channels.
