Former presidential candidate of the Alliance National Party (ANP), Alhaji Mashood Shittu, has said that people-oriented ideas and spirited efforts will make Kwara State governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, gain people’s confidence.
Speaking with journalists in Ilorin at the weekend, Shittu called on the governor to swing into action for people to feel the impact of his electoral victory.
“I admonish you not to be engrossed in the euphoria of this victory but swing into action and let the good result of your actions make the noise. We are well positioned to partner with the government of the day to take Kwara State to greater heights.
“It is in the spirit of inclusiveness that you crave for and in which we share the same ideology that we register our intents and our congratulatory message,” he said.
Shittu, who is the national chairman of the ANP prayed God to grant the governor a fulfilling government in which dividends of democracy shall be fairly enjoyed by every indigene of the state at home and in the diaspora.

“Change is indeed inevitable, and when it comes, it is pertinent we key into it, go in line with it, embrace and enjoy the good tidings that come with it in good faith.
“A new set of leadership has ensued in Kwara. Indeed it has marked the beginning of a government that majority of Kwarans craved for. We are glad that this development is not accompanied with bloodshed and unrest. As a Kwaran, I am glad that I witness this day in sound mind, without any rumpus. This, indeed, is the manifestation of peoples’ will.
“Many parties appeared on the ballot paper. Many political actors were in the field. Many happenings trailed the political exercise but today the chosen ones are handed the mantle of Kwara leadership.
“If our collective dream is to reposition Kwara, then we shall collectively pursue our dream irrespective of our different political affiliations in the interest of our people. I warmly congratulate the newly sworn-in Executive Governor of Kwara State, Alhaji AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq in whom I repose much confidence in, that he will pilot the affairs of Kwara with people-oriented ideas and spirited efforts,” he said.
