Otunba Alao-Akala speaking with Nigerian Tribune during a telephone chat gave this commendation while reacting to the recent announcement of the federal government of its decision to honour two foremost Yoruba leaders with the two highest National honours award.
He said the decision is unprecedented historic handshake across the Niger and will forever be written in the annals of the country,
“This posthumous National honours award bequeathed on Bashorun MKO Abiola & Chief Gani Fawehinmi in recognition of their exemplary contributions towards building our nation Nigeria will forever remain evergreen.
The Yoruba Nation will never forget the Federal Government and President Mohammed Buhari in particular for this great honour done our fallen hero’s.
This bridge building effort the former Governor stated will serve as a wake up call to those of us alive that posterity will definitely reward us for whatever effort we put in uplifting this country shall surely not be in vain as typified by president Mohammed Buhari.
