I was diagnosed with Infection and Erectile Dysfunction and was placed on Viagra and antibiotics by my doctor. Despite this, I still have a very weak erection. Kindly let me know what to do about this.

A weak erection (Erectile Dysfunction) can be due to many factors beyond the control of Viagra (Sildenafil) which works by increasing and sustaining the blood flow to the penis during erection. The most likely reason for the failure of Viagra is progression of the underlying problem such as; obstruction to blood flow, worsening high blood pressure, weight gain, worsening diabetes or hormonal abnormality. In some men, low testosterone may be responsible for lack of responsiveness to medications. In these situations, addressing the underlying problem is important. This may involve weight loss, diet as well as better control of underlying medical problems such as high blood pressure or diabetes. Kindly discuss these options with your doctor, preferably a specialist doctor at a Teaching or Specialist hospital nearest to you.
