Ebonyi State Police Command has confirmed the rescue of abducted wife of an INEC official shot dead by suspected gunmen last week in Ishiagu, Ivo local government area of the state.
The Police PRO, Onome Onovwakpoyeya, disclosed this in a message on Sunday night.
According to her, “Operatives of the Command acting on credible information rescued the revealed kidnapped victim Charity Igwe unhurt whose kidnap was unveiled during investigation.”
The PPRO further noted that “Nine Suspects were arrested from a thick forest in Lokpanta in Abia State and they are all from Lokpanta in Umunneochu LGA of Abia State.
“Items recovered are MP3, Various Handsets and Gang pictures,” she said
Recall that the INEC official, father of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Leader and one other man were killed in the attack.
