Police raid criminal hideout, arrest two suspects in Imo

Two suspected members of an armed robbery gang terrorising Mbaise and its environs have been arrested by the tactical teams of Imo State Police Command.

The suspects who include a 36-year-old Darlington Ogbuike and Ihuoma Emeriole age 25, were arrested during a raid of a criminal hideout at Umuevu Onitsha in Ezinihitte Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State.

The Commissioner of Police Imo State, CP Abutu Yaro, through the Command Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Michael Abatham, said that the command tactical teams, when alerted of the situation immediately, mobilised and raided the criminal hideout which resulted in the arrested of two criminal suspects.

According to CP, the teams recovered 2 English made automatic Pump Action Guns, with 7 rounds of live cartridges and 2 locally made Pistols.

He said that the suspects were already undergoing interrogation and had made useful statements that would aid the police to arrest other suspects.

The Commissioner commended the officers and men for their proactive measures at combating crime in the state.

He also commended the residents and citizens of the state for their commendable synergy with the police, especially in the provision of credible information that had enabled smart policing and the interception of criminal elements easier.

The CP used the situation to warn all criminals to relocate from the state or face severe sanctions.
