The state commissioner of police, Ahmed Iliyasu, said the Command would not rest on its oars on ensuring a state free of crime.
Parading the suspects at the State Police Command, Eleweran, Abeokuta, Iliyasu, said the Command in the first half year recorded a lot of success in its war against crime.
The suspects were arrested for various offences ranging from armed robbery, kidnapping, car snatching, and cultism, among others.
Seven vehicles, 15 Pump Action rifles, 17 live cartridges, locally made pistols, phones, laptops, one jack knife, broken bottle and dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp and a cash sum of N384,000 to mention but a few.
One Babuga Hassan, a kidnapper was among those arrested having abducted a Fulani man and collected a ransom of N90,000.
The CP enjoined residents of the state to alert the police when they observed any strange occurrence in their neighborhood, claiming that the essence of communication is to bring peace to the society.
He said, “Crime has no map, crime is crime, no matter the brand or name given to it. Therefore, it is our constitutional duty to protect lives and properties and we are ready to do that with all our abilities.”
The Commissioner concluded that the command is fighting hard to see that nothing destabilize the peace of the State in any form or guise.
The suspects would be arraigned in court after investigations had been concluded.
