Police nab killer cult member ‘Spartacus’, 5 others in Lagos

A notorious cult member Saheed Tajudeen aka Spartacus and five other members of his gang have been arrested by the Lagos Police Command over cult-related killings in the State.

Other members of the gang arrested alongside Spartacus are: Victor Ugochukwu, Emeka Ezeani, Taiye Tinoulaji, Obìnna Eze, and Olajide Seun.

Police sources in the State stated that Spartacus had been on the wanted list of the police in the state over his involvement in cult killings.

A police source, while speaking with the Nigerian Tribune, under the condition of anonymity said that many arms and ammunition, charms, axes and cutlasses as well as fake dollars were recovered from the gang.

The image maker in charge of the state police command, Benjamin Hundeyin also confirmed the arrest of the cult members to the Nigerian Tribune.

Hundeyin, a Superintendent of Police said Saheed, a notorious cultist was arrested on Saturday, June 10, 2023. His arrest led to the arrest of other members of his gang.

“Two locally made cut-to-size double barrel guns, two locally made pistols, twelve live cartridges, two axes, two dagger knives, fake dollar notes and some dangerous charms were recovered in their possession.”

“They confessed to have killed several people including one Alaba Lawal, and Dolapo in Ajegunle, Abule-Osun and Aguda/Surulere respectively.”

“They also mentioned some of their gang members who are still on the run. Efforts is in progress to arrest those at large while those arrested will be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded,” Hundeyin also stated.
