Four suspected armed robbers have been arrested by the Yobe State Police Command for attempted robbery.
A press statement by the Command PPRO, Dungus Abdulkarim, made available to Journalists contained that the suspects were arrested for criminal conspiracy, house trespass and armed robbery.
According to the PPRO, “Today, 07/09/2023 at about 1100hrs, One Mustapha Goni of Suminti Village in Tarmuwa LGA, reported a crime at the Police station.
“That on the same date at about 0000hrs, a syndicate of armed robbers numbering 8 armed themselves with pomp action gun, cutlass and knife stormed his house and demanded money from him.”
The PPRO added that a team of Policemen rushed to the scene and 4 suspects were arrested in connection with the crime.
Those arrested are “Sani Hussaini of Dapchi LGA; Madugu Baba Garba of Danayi Village in Dapchi LGA; Mohammad Bello of Gitel and Ahmadu Hussaini of the same address.
“Items recovered from them include one pump action gun, two cutlasses, three knives, one jack knife and a bunch of charms.”
Dungus Abdulkarim said that efforts are in top gear to arrest the remaining suspects at large adding that the case will soon be transferred to DCCID Damaturu, for discreet investigation.
