A Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of All Progressive Congress in Plateau State, Chief Garba Pwul, has stated that the People Democratic Party (PDP) in the state should blame itself for its exclusion from the local government election slated for Saturday, October 9, 2021.
Speaking with newsmen in Jos, Chief Pwul pointed out that the judgement of Justice Ishaku Kunda of Plateau State High Court which excluded the PDP from local government election was a landslide victory for democracy.
He stated that APC and Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC) did not sue PDP to court but rather it was PDP that sued PLASIEC, adding that the blame must be laid on the shoulders of PDP itself as a result of their in-house wrangling.
“PDP should not complain of lack of representation because they refused to do the needful, therefore should have themselves to blame for not putting their house in order,” he said.
On his aspiration to be governor of Plateau State, Chief Pwul said having spent close to forty years as a legal practitioner, he was more equipped with sufficient knowledge to contest for the number one seat of Plateau State and change its fortune.
He implored people of the state to jettison sentiment and embrace credibility for the effective development of Plateau State
On Nigeria’s independence, he said despite the ups and downs, the good and bad circumstances which Nigeria is passing through, the country has recorded tremendous success and disagreed with those who said that there is nothing to celebrate as Nigeria is a failed state.
“All developed nations we see in the world today have passed through the process of challenges, while some are even worse than Nigeria and they have overcome it.
“I strongly believe that Nigeria will overcome its woes one day. All we need is collective existence to be able to manage our diversity as a nation because there is much more to achieve being together than apart. We need to be patriotic,” Pwul stated.
