Plateau APC says parallel executive does not exist, factional chairman suspended

All Progressive Congress (APC) in Plateau State has denied existence of parallel state executive of the party, saying the the factional chairman Hon. Ishaya Itse, is an impostor and has since been suspended by his ward.

It would be recalled that APC, Jos Jarawa ward of Jos North local government area of Plateau state slammed a suspension on the factional chairman on Tuesday for anti-party activities.

The APC in a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Hon. Sylvanus Namang, challenged the Itse to produce the receipt of the nomination form he claimed to have paid for as evidence.

Namang said: “He claimed he paid for nomination form and was denied its issuance. Let him show, to the media which remain neutral and whose services are available to all, evidence of such payment and to which bank. He and his co-travelers should not unnecessarily or continue to mischievously overheat the system.

“Perhaps he paid to the opposition party which has been passionate about pursuing his case or he might have been swindled. If he has any sponsors in APC, he should by now realise that he has since been abandoned and he is left all alone to lick his own wounds.”

Namang further stated that the APC remains a party of progressive-minded democrats whose dispute resolution mechanism is second to none.

However, the factional chairman, Hon. Itse in an interview with newsmen claimed that he paid for the nomination form to contest for the chairmanship of the party but was denied the form.

He said: “I paid for the nomination form at the specified bank, I still have the bank teller with me but was not given the form. The acting state chairman of the party then told me the forms for the aspirants were with the governor. I went to the government house but nobody attended to me.

“The whole exercise was shrouded in secrecy, the aspirants were not carried along, the consensus arrangement was done by a clique of some stakeholders. I want to say that there was no state congress in Plateau State,” he said.
