A People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Coalition from Northern Nigeria has declared support for Abdul Sidi Bomai’s candidacy for the position of National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), describing him as the most credible and untainted contender for the role.
Speaking at a press conference in Kaduna on Sunday, the group’s Chairman, Alh. Prince Sale Buba, said they arrived at the decision after extensive consultations with key stakeholders across the country.
The group noted that Bomai’s track record of loyalty, leadership, and integrity sets him apart in the race.
“His Excellency Abdul Sidi Bomai is a seasoned politician with deep grassroots connections. He has remained steadfast in his loyalty to the PDP since 1999 and has demonstrated unwavering commitment to the party’s ideals,” the statement read.

The group also pointed to Bomai’s previous political engagements, including his role as a governorship candidate in Niger State during the buildup to the 2023 elections, as proof of his leadership capacity and experience in public service.
“Unlike some other contenders, Bomai is the cleanest candidate for this position. He has no corruption cases with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) or any anti-corruption agency, either in Nigeria or abroad. His integrity is beyond reproach, and that is the kind of leadership the PDP needs at this critical time,” the group stated.
The coalition further highlighted Bomai’s ongoing engagement with party stakeholders and his commitment to revitalizing the PDP through his “3Rs” strategy—Rejuvenation, Reform, and Rebuilding.
“His extensive consultations across the country reflect his deep understanding of the challenges facing the party and his readiness to reposition the PDP as a formidable force in Nigerian politics,” it added.
The group, therefore, urged all PDP members and stakeholders to rally behind Bomai, expressing confidence that his leadership would uphold the party’s core values of service, justice, and good governance.
