A total 802 new students have recently been matriculated into the Oyo State College of Health Science and Technology, Eleyele, Ibadan.
The provost of the College, Pharmacist Oluyemisi Oyewo administered the matriculation oath to the students during the ceremony conducted in the College Hall on Tuesday, February 4, 2025.
Addressing the matriculants, the provost charged them to be committed to their studies, and avoid distractions, so as to excel and maintain the good academic standard which the College is known among other similar colleges of health technology.
While congratulating the matriculants, she also admonished them to abide by the rules and regulations of the college and eschew evil in all ramifications, stressing that the management of the college will not tolerate acts of indiscipline and unruly behaviour.
Mrs Oluyemisi Oyewo expressed her profound appreciation to the visitor to the College, Governor Oluseyi Makinde, for his unmitigated support for the college, by providing an enabling teaching and learning environment and ensuring the accreditation and re-accreditation of courses of studies by the provision of financial and logistic support when required.
She, on behalf of the college community, commiserated with the State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde on the demise of his eldest brother, praying that God will grant him and the entire family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
She also commended the Commissioner for Ministry Health, Dr Oluwaserimi Ajetunmobi and her counterpart, the Commissioner for the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Professor Salihu Abdulwaheed Adelabu for their commitment to the development and progress of the college.
In her opening remarks, the registrar of the College, Mrs Dupe Ayoola implored the matriculants to refrain from any inimical activity capable of inhibiting their academic progress.
She stated that the college will always do its best to ensure the maintenance of quality academic standards, warning that no act of lawlessness by any student will be condoned.
Some of the matriculants interviewed after the ceremony expressed their delight over their admission to the college, promising to attain academic excellence and be of good conduct.

In attendance at the ceremony were the principal officers of the college, heads of departments, parents and guardians of the matriculants and other well wishers.
The high point of the event was the inauguration of the Oyo State College of Health Science and Technology Detachment by the Nigerian Red Cross Society, Oyo State Branch, immediately after the ceremony, charging the matriculants to join the society.
