The Commissioner of Police in Osun State, Fimihan Adeoye, over the weekend disclosed that a notorious armed robber, Akinsola Wale had been arrested.
Speaking through the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Folasade Odoro, the police boss informed journalists that Akinsola was arrest on Friday evening at New World Hotel in Ipetumodu town where the suspect was drinking beer.
Describing Akinsola as an ex-convict, popularly known as “Bishop,” Adeoye explained that it took the collective efforts of policemen and local vigilante group in the community before he could be arrested.
According to him, Akinsola had earlier escaped arrest at scene of the robbery where one of his gang members, Azeez Oyeyemi, was arrested with two locally made pistols
Adeoye said the suspects would be prosecuted in court after necessary investigation by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, assuring that other members of his gang and all the armed robbers terrorising the state would be apprehended and brought to book.
