The much-anticipated Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) election scheduled for Saturday in Osogbo, Osun, has been postponed indefinitely, leaving many stakeholders in a state of uncertainty.
The decision to postpone the Osun IPAC election was announced by the National Organising Secretary, Chinyere Kalu, who stated that a new date for the election would be communicated in due course.
In a statement, Kalu expressed regret for any inconvenience this development may cause and appreciated the understanding and continued cooperation of stakeholders.

The postponement has raised concerns among stakeholders, particularly after representatives of registered political parties abruptly left the venue and the electoral committee failed to appear on the scheduled day.
According to reports, the election exercise, which was slated to begin at 10:00 a.m., did not hold as delegates who had registered with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) departed unexpectedly.
Findings at the scene revealed that the electoral committee appointed by the national IPAC body was not present at the venue, with sources indicating that committee members were elsewhere in the town.
The chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Dr. Tosin Odeyemi, who contested for the chairmanship position of IPAC, expressed hope that the election would hold one day.
Odeyemi, who contested against the chairman of Accord Party, Victor Akande, explained that he had waited for the committee before being informed that the election would be postponed.
“I am convinced they are only postponing the day. The day will still come and the day is soon. It is not about me, it is about the team that feels that the incumbent chairman of IPAC, who is hoping that he will be re-elected, does not deserve it and I think they got the signal already,” Odey.
Odeyemi, who expressed his willingness to participate in the election anytime, stated that he had agreed to the postponement as he was convinced it was in the best interest of the party.
“We are ready for the election any day, any time. However, the electoral committee did not provide a specific date for the election now. We are waiting for the official communication, hoping a certain date will be fixed for it,” he said.
