A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Professor Yemi Adediwura, on Tuesday, charged members of the public to disregard insinuations from different quarters that the Ile-Ife chapter, Osun State, has rejected the party.
The academic scholar who spoke under the aegies of ‘Ile-Ife Supports APC’, ‘#Say No To FakeNews#’, ‘ProgressForAll’ in Ile-ife affirmed that the party political structures and its formidability in the length and breadth of the town and beyond, remain as solid as ever and described the insinuations as a calculated attempt of the opposition parties to create disharmony among party members.
He argued that the chances of the APC in winning every political contest in the town “stand as constant as the Northern star because the party is blessed with grassroots political leaders who are well-rooted and versed in the ‘ABC’ of politics and politicking of the terrain.”
Adediwura posited that, Ile-Ife remains unwavering in its commitment to the party’s values and leadership pointing out that “the narrative being spread by opposition elements, falsely claiming that Ile-Ife is rejecting the APC using the name of Prof. Alaba Adediwura, is nothing but a desperate attempt to mislead the public.”
According to him, Ile-Ife, a stronghold of progressive ideals, stands solidly with distinguished leaders such as Senator Iyiola Omisore, former Deputy Governor of Osun State; Alhaji Tajudeen Lawal, the Osun APC State Chairman; Prince Adeogun Halbert; Hon. Yera Elugbaju; and many other committed leaders who have tirelessly worked to ensure the party’s continued strength in the region.
He said, “The APC remains the party of development, progress, and inclusivity in Ile-Ife, and no amount of propaganda can change the reality on the ground.
“We call on the opposition to engage in constructive politics rather than resorting to falsehoods and misinformation to gain relevance.
“Our party remains focused on delivering good governance, empowering the people, and ensuring that Ile-Ife continues to thrive under the progressive vision of the APC.
“The people of Ile-Ife know the truth, and no amount of political deceit will sway their unwavering support for the party.”
