One person has been reported dead while others were critically injured in a road mishap involving a truck and an 18-seater bus along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
Tribune Online gathered that an Ibadan bound 18 passengers bus was overrun by an articulated truck.
One of the passengers, according to an eyewitness account died on the spot while others are receiving medical attention at a nearby hospital
Also commenting on the incident, a driver who identified himself Taiwo Oyewale attributed the accident to what he described as recklessness on the part of the truck driver.
Oyewale said he did not know the actual number of people who died but saw corpses at the scene of the accident before officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) moved the injured victims to a hospital.
He said, “I was not there when the accident happened but I arrived there a few minutes after. It is obvious that the truck driver drove against the traffic.”
The driver just came out of a quarry very close to the scene of the accident and collided with the blue bus. It’s a pity that lives were lost and the property was destroyed due to one man’s recklessness.
