Nigerian diplomat and United Nations Peace Ambassador, Simeon Adewale Oladele, is set to launch his nonfiction, ‘Determined Not To Fail’.

Oladele, the Finance Attaché at the Nigerian High Commission in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, disclosed that the book presentation will take place on February 19 at the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago in Port of Spain.

He also announced the official commissioning of a community development project, blood donation at the blood bank, and the inaugural 7km run/walk in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, on February 18.

The theme of the book and project launch is ‘Chasing dreams: Every step counts’, with historian and author Ambassador Nyahuma Obika as the Chairman of the event.

The nonfiction has two parts and 14 chapters.  The first part is titled ‘The Seed of Determination’ while the second is ‘The Lifestyle of Great Achievers’.

Oladele stated that he is thrilled to present the book to the public, adding, “This book is a heartfelt message of hope and perseverance, crafted especially for everyone facing challenges in their lives.”

He further stated that through personal stories and powerful insights, ‘Determined Not To Fail’ encourages people to rise above their struggles and keep pushing forward.

The author noted that each chapter explores a different aspect of determination, from discovering one’s drive and setting clear goals to cultivating excellence, managing time, building a legacy, and developing resilience and learning from failure.

He further noted that the condensed work serves as both a guide and a reflection tool for readers seeking clarity, growth, and impact in leadership and life.

He revealed that he will donate the book to schools in Trinidad and Tobago and Nigeria.

Oladele stated that, aside from being an author, he is passionate about touching lives and making an impact wherever he finds himself, which he added is a testament to his appointment with the Federal Government.

The Group Chief Executive of OANDO, Wale Tinubu, who wrote the foreword of ‘Determined Not To Fail’, described it as a work that mirrors the discipline, clarity, and courage required to build and sustain meaningful impact in a world that often rewards shortcuts over substance.

A review described the nonfiction as more than a motivational book; as a leadership manual for a generation at a crossroads, which “reminds us that excellence is not inherited; it is cultivated.”
