Socio-political organizations in Kwara state, Concerned Citizens of Offa Community and Yaman Peace Frontier (YPF) have backed the Inspector General of Police (IGP) for his level of investigation on the recent Offa robbery saga.

This is just as the Offa Descendants Union (ODU), an umbrella body of all indigenes of the community had also, in a statement signed by its National President, Najeem Yasin, and National Secretary, Wosilat MacArthy, expressed support for the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, described Saraki as a peace-loving political leader who has interest of Offa town at heart.

Speaking with journalists in Ilorin at the weekend, convener of YPF, Olawale Gbadeyan, charged the police boss to carry out a thorough investigation, saying that whosoever found culpable in the robbery incident should be prosecuted or whosoever engaged in the robbery.

“This is not what Kwara is known for. Kwara is known as a state of harmony. But the recent events in the state are alien. We are not known to be thugs and armed robbers.

Also, a group of indigenes of Offa, Concerned Citizens of Offa Community, have risen against the leadership of the community for expressing support for the Senate President, Bukola Saraki in his travails with the police.

The group, in a statement signed by its President, Tunde Yusuf and Secretary, Segun Balogun, said that they supported the manner of police investigation of the robbery attack which they said would lead to getting into the root of the robbery to facilitate bringing of all those who are culpable to book.

“On behalf of the majority of Offa citizens at home and abroad, we want to assure the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies that we are in tandem with them in their quest to get to the root of the sad robbery incident by bringing to book, all those that are found culpable or committed accessory to this gruesome act.

“The entire Offa community are eagerly calling for Justice not only to be done on this matter but must be seen to have been adequately done by ensuring that all those found guilty face the full wrath of the law,” the group stated.
