The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has postponed the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream I Orientation Course for prospective Corps members deployed to Niger State.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued by the Director of Information and Public Relations of the scheme, Mrs. Caroline Embu, on Sunday in Abuja.
According to the statement, the postponement became necessary due to the ongoing renovation of the NYSC Orientation Camp in Paiko, Niger State, following extensive damage caused by a recent windstorm.
The NYSC management explained that the Niger State Government is currently carrying out rehabilitation works on the camp facility to restore it to a suitable condition for the orientation exercise.
“As a result of the ongoing renovation, the Orientation Course for Prospective Corps Members deployed to Niger State for the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream I Service Year has been postponed until a later date,” Embu said.
NYSC further disclosed that urgent arrangements are being made to secure an alternative venue for the orientation programme to ensure that affected corps members can commence their national service without undue delay.
