Speaking to journalists during the operation, the NSCDC commandant in the state, Muhammed Fari, said the operation is one of the primary responsibilities of the corps.
He explained that it’s a crime for oil marketers to hoard fuel in filling stations, adjust their litres, and sell above government-regulated price.
Fari added that, some filling stations are of the habit of selling fuel to black marketers at exorbitant prices which negates the law.
He said that, the command is ready to prosecute offenders at the Federal High Court of Justice, adding that the offence has no option but an imprisonment of not less than 20 years.
