Norine, known as Norine Mindeyes in Scotland and England, told R that she has completed work on “Wake Up”, a song in which she featured her long time producer, Diego Okenyodo, just as she has begun working on another single entitled “African Dance”.
Hailing from the North, Diego and Norine first worked together years ago on a Yuletide song entitled “Merry Christmas” and last year again on another single entitled “United”.
Describing Diego as a reliable producer and friend, Norine told R that she put her “soul and entire being” into “Wake Up”, just as she expressed her confidence in “African Dance,” which the two are eager to complete working on this week.
“I plan to complete the projects at hand before I go back. But I’m not sure about the videos just yet. I am only about the songs for now. I plan to stay for just few days. When I come back to the country later, I will work on the videos to suit the African market. Definitely, shots will be taken in UK and complemented by Nigerian shots,” she said.
After having made a successful inroad into Europe with her contemporary blend of African songs with others, which got her a BBC Around The World nomination in the 90s, she believes it is time for her to be known at her home, hence the return to an Abuja studio where she is still working on more songs which she hopefully plans to release before the end of August.
