The Osun State Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Dr Tosin Odeyemi, has said that many members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with conscience will leave the party due to their current suffering and discontent.
This prediction comes on the heels of the recent defection of Hon. Wole Oke, member representing Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency, from PDP to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Dr. Odeyemi expressed his views in a statement, where he also criticised the quality of advisers surrounding Governor Ademola Adeleke.
According to him, these advisers prioritize praising the governor over genuine development efforts. He further predicted that while some PDP members would defect openly, others would stay within the party to destabilize it from within.
Meanwhile, the Osun State chapter of the PDP has reacted to Hon. Wole Oke’s defection, describing it as consistent with his history of erratic behavior and unstable loyalties.
The party highlighted Oke’s past actions, accusing him of exploiting PDP’s goodwill and resorting to divisive tactics to further his personal ambitions.
The PDP reaffirmed its commitment to loyalty, transparency, and service, urging its members to stay focused and united.
The party also expressed confidence in its values and governance under Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke.
