A Chieftain of the New Nigerian People Party (NNPP), Hon. Damilare Abioro, has passionately appealed to the Federal Government to quickly fix the Sango-Idiroko road in Ogun State.
This is coming after the immediate past Works Minister, Raji Fashola, announced that the 64 Kilometres federal road had been awarded under a tax credit scheme.
Abioro, who made the call while addressing newsmen on the sideline of a wedding ceremony between Precious Petinrin and Ayokunle Osonuga at Atan Ota area, described the condition of the road as deplorable and worrisome.
The NNPP Chieftain explained that both the State and Federal Government had abandoned the roads, like many other roads in Yewa axis of the State.
He added that the people and motorists plying the road are witnessing terrible experience on daily basis, which had resulted into loss of lives and properties.
According to him, the road which connected the State’s industrial hub, had suffered age long neglect, subjecting the residents in the area to untold hardship.
“Many people living in the area and motorists plying this road are facing many challenges due to the poor condition of the road.
“While many people can no longer go out with their cars anymore, some industries located in the axis are currently considering relocation elsewhere.
“it is unthinkable that a Federal road can be allowed to become an eyesore due to neglect. This is completely unacceptable, as there is need for immediate care, either from Mr Governor or the Federal Government in order to help fix the road” The NNPP Chieftain lamented
