As part of the company’s 70th anniversary celebration, African Newspapers of Nigeria (ANN) PLC, publishers of Tribune titles, on Thursday, organised a medical outreach where over 200 people benefitted from the free medical checkup.
The Chairman, ANN PLC, Ambassasor Dr (Mrs) Tokunbo Awolowo Dosumu, declaring open the programme organised in collaboration with Jasons Health Corps and Synlab, said the free medical outreach was organised as part of the company’s 70th anniversary.
Awolowo Dosumu thanked the participants who availed themselves the opportunity of knowing their health status with the checking of their blood pressure, blood sugar level, and the Body Mass Index (BMI).
Eye tests were also conducted for participants, while a medical expert, Mrs Omolola Amoo, who anchored the health talk segment, spoke on the topic: “Eye Care.”
Awolowo Dosumu, who said the programme was specifically organised for the community for their support and commitment to the organisation’s growth over the years, commended the public for being supportive and said, adding that the company is after the well-being of everyone.
“In celebrating our 70th anniversary, we decided to do something we will cherish and remember for good, and since health is wealth, we decided to venture into it. We know the occasion is beyond merry making, as we are interested in the health status of everyone and most especially our neighbours who have been accommodating us over the years,” Awolowo Dosumu said.
One of the beneficiaries, Mr Oladele Olomola, appreciating the company’s effort, lauded the management for giving people the opportunity to know their health status.
Also speaking at the event, a representative of Jasons Health Corps and Synlab, Mrs Amoo, encouraged everyone to always go for their medical checkup, at least twice in a year, to know their health status.

She advised everyone to get a special handkerchief for their eyes and also encouraged them to eat what will make them grow healthier such as, fruits, vegetables, carrot, and take a lot of fluid, especially water.
