The journey to crown the next idol on Nigeria’s music reality show, Nigerian Idol, has reached its peak as viewers across Nigeria eagerly await the grand finale scheduled for this Sunday, July 13th.
After seven weeks of intense competition marked by musical performances, sad exits, and surprising twists, the stage is now set for the grand finale.
In the penultimate episode, which aired on Sunday, July 6th, Chima and Lammy emerged as the top two contestants, having secured the most votes. Chioma also earned a place in the top three and a chance to compete in the finale, thanks to Judge Ric Hassani, who won a judges’ contest and gained the power to save one contestant from the bottom two.
Speaking on the highly anticipated finale, the Executive Head of Content and Channels at MultiChoice West Africa, Dr. Busola Tejumola, commended the contestants for their unwavering passion for music.
“We are thrilled to see such incredible talent and dedication from our contestants this season. Nigerian Idol has once again proven to be a platform that not only entertains but also unearths the rich musical talent our country has to offer. We look forward to an electrifying finale,” she said.
As the finale approaches, the top three contestants will grace the stage one last time, competing for the title of Nigerian Idol.
