The spokesman of the Niger State Police Command, Superintendent of Police (SP) Wasi’u Abiodun, in a statement, also confirmed that some individuals were using private motorcycles to conduct skeletal commercial activities at night.
Abiodun, therefore, declared that following this development, any private motorcyclist who could not give a satisfactory account of himself, with proper identification as a staff member of an organization, coming from work, or for any other important reason, may have their motorcycle impounded.
The police further urged motorcyclists and tricyclists to be law-abiding pending further directives from the State, noting that the temporary measure is yielding positive results, as it is helping to eradicate phone snatching and other robberies in the Minna metropolis.
