NGO expresses readiness to cater for out-of-school children in Oyo

Dominion Grace Community AIDS Foundation boss, Chukwudi Solomon Amechi has assured people of Oyo State of the group’s readiness to cater for out-of-school children and the aged in society.

Speaking at the inauguration of the foundation on Thursday, Amechi said it is necessary to see to the well-being of the underprivileged in society to complement the efforts of the government.

He disclosed that the vision is to rekindle hope for the hopeless and provide resources for those without life’s essentials.

According to him, “We want to improve the health and lives of people affected by poverty or emergencies by providing essential resources needed for their care.

“Having worked with some microfinance banks, I notice that most of our women are coming for loans to cater for their needs so as to survive and that prompted me to establish this foundation that will address their issues.

“Our main target, the people we are reaching out to are the school dropouts and those who cannot afford to even go to school that was to go into vocational business, like shoemaking, ICT, barbing, hairdressing and after learning these skill we can establish them and start doing something cater for their own life.

“We also have a Dominion Grace Foundation School, which is majorly for dropout children; those who are dropout because of resources, we want to cater for them and bring the best out of them.

“We have team members working together, this is not about me alone but men and women of great minds.”

Also, guest speaker at the programme, Pastor Emmanuel Adele, of Dunamis International Gospel centre, Ibadan charged the foundation to work with integrity.

“The commissioning of this foundation is a landmark because I have known Amechi for years now and his heart for the destitute. I know some things he has done in catering for people and assisting the less privileged, in a little way he has been able to do for school fees, reaching out to the poor in ensuring they have a good life and that is what prompted me to grace this event.”
