THE Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige has expressed shock over the death of the Director-General of the Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA), Dr. Timothy Olawale.
Ngige in a condolence message to the association, said, “ we heard with shock the unexpected news of the death of the Director-General of NECA, Dr. Timothy Olawale. We are sorry for your loss and convey our heartfelt sympathy to your organisation and its entire affiliate employers’ associations.”
Extending his condolences to the family of Olawale, Ngige comforted them with the words of Thomas Moore, saying, “ earth hath no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal.”
Also, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in a condolence letter signed by its President, Comrade Ayuba Wabba, said “while in the saddle, Dr. Olawale demonstrated a high level of professionalism and camadarie with other social partners especially labour. He was always very objective in dealing with matters of industrial relations as his work ethos was justice and equity.
In the same vein, the Micheal Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies, (MINILS) Ilorin, Kwara State, described the death of Dr. Timothy Olawale, as a sad loss.
MINILS in message signed by Lawal Moshood on behalf of its Director- General, stated; “As the Director-General of NECA, the largest and oldest association of employers of labour in Africa, the late Dr. Olawale was expected as a special guest at a round table discussion on “Decent Work”, scheduled to hold on October 7 in Ilorin.
