The Executive Secretary, Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Rev Yakubu Pam, has tasked staff of the commission to see team work and good conduct as the best practice to achieving the goal of the NCPC.
Rev Pam said this during the 2021 staff thanksgiving service held recently at Goshen, Keffi Road, Nasarawa State.
He said that the work of the commission should be anchored on team work and should not be in the hands of any single individual, advising staff to live and work as a family by loving one another.
“We should be able to work with discipline,”charging the directors of the commission to carry their subordinates along and ensure they were equipped to succeed them.
Rev Pam highlighted the successful 2020 maiden pilgrimage to the Kingdom of Jordan as an achievement, which remained one of best pilgrimages ever conducted by the commission in the last 10 years.
He explained that despite the initial scepticism about the Jordan pilgrimage, the commission recorded zero abscondment, hitch free operations and all the pilgrims were paid their basic travelling allowances.
He commended the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), His Eminence, Dr Sampson Ayokunle, for serving as the spiritual leader of the pilgrims.
He added that the CAN President was so impressed with the commission’s maiden pilgrimage to Jordan which he confirmed that” without Jordan the holy land will be incomplete.”
The NCPC boss appreciated the staff for their commitment and patience with management, assuring them that he would not compromise on staff welfare and promised to continue to improve on it.
He admonished staff not to discourage their leaders by engaging in unhealthy talk, rather they should conduct themselves well to encourage the leaders to do more.
