The president of the Nigeria Association of Tour Operators, (NATOP), Hajia Billy Abdul, has disclosed that she would lead members of the association on a visit to the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Babatunde Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, who she describes as “a wonderful royal father, who is keenly and deeply interested in promotion and enhancement of tourism in Nigeria.”

Hajia Abdul who disclosed this in an exclusive interview with TTH, said that “Ooni Ogunwusi, through deeds, words, action and projects has demonstrated his unflinching love , passion , interest and commitment to promotion of culture, tourism, hospitality, cohesion and peace.
And whoever goes on with these rare virtues is an angel of good living and economic advancement”
She pointed out “our job as tour operators can only thrive under the prevalence of peace, love, internal cohesion, safety and mutual interaction. These are all what ooni Ojaja has been preaching, planting and sowing since he ascended the throne of his heritage.”
Hajia Abdul disclosed “Ooni Ojaja commenced peaceful acts by empowering several women in cleaning the ancient towns, empowering youth via planting of Cocoa plantation, planting of Ife Grand Resort, declaring ile – Ife a Tourism Zone, rebranding Olojo Festival and turning Ife into a tourism destination. All these are acts which create business opportunities for my members “
She revealed: “We are visiting the Ooni as an association which is responsive to the tourism stimuli being injected into the sector by his majesty and also see it as a necessary networking move to ensure that our members key into the Ooni’s vision of domestic tourism.”
Hajia Abdul said “The visit will also afford some of us the opportunity of having a first time tour of the various tourism sites in Ile-Ife and the surrounding communities. Ooni Ogunwusi has elevated Ile -Ife tourism zone into the reckoning of global patronage and our members will not be left behind both as partakers of the goodies there in and also as strategic partners in the tourism economy of Osun State.”
