THE Nigeria Police Force, Nasarawa State Command, has nabbed 40 criminal armed robbery suspects, and recovered 500 cows from its rustlers.
The State Commissioner of Police, Abubakar Sadiq Bello who disclosed this during a press conference on Monday, said the stride was as a result of collaborative efforts between the force and some stakeholders in the fight against crime.
“About two weeks ago , a special squad made up of gallant officers and men of Nasarawa Police Command embarked on a joint operation with members of the vigilante and Miyetti Allah Association with the sole aim of tackling the activities of kidnappers, armed robbers and cattle rustlers in and around Udege Mbeki, Mararaba Udege, Odu and Agwada areas Kokona Local Government Area of the state “, he said.
The commissioner explained that, one AK 49 military rifle with 24 rounds of live ammunition; a pair of military camouflage uniform and 13 motorcycles was also recovered.
Bello said with the operation, residents of Nasarawa and Kokona Local Government Areas will have respite to enable them pursue their legitimate livelihood in peace without fear.
The Commissioner also said that, the force would parade additional 12 suspects who attacked a Chinese Mining Company located at Udege Mbeki on March 18 which caused colossal damage worth N400, 000,000 to the company.
Tribune Online reports that, the force issued certificate of commendation to officers and men of the command who facilitated the operation.
